Then why is there a culture of cover-up, support, and sweeping under the rug of various violations, actions, and attitudes b/w fellow officers? I’m not denying there are countless amazing policemen and women across the country. W/ that said, there appears to be no accountability
You want the truth? Yes, there is a code of silence (which I NEVER tolerated as sheriff). But the bigger problem? The power of police unions. The biggest obstacle I had when I tried to fix the mess I inherited was the unions. They're the ones who truly protect the "bad apples".
