He (POTUS) has explained already and I have no problem with a commuted sentence. Jesse Jackson's son got far less and a pension to boot. No one seemed to care about that. I don't know the other's so I can't comment.
I might expound upon my thoughts in greater detail later but I disagree with Trump commuting Blago's sentence. The case involving fmr Chief Kerik is a little more complicated. I would not question Trump’s motives or authority. I believe POTUS thinks he is doing the right thing.
