Good grief. What a joke. And we wonder why #LocalDC will NEVER sniff #DCStatehood. The definition of petty.
Although most helicopters over DC move people, (medivac, US President, ~SWAT), many do just reconnaissance over DC region. For pure recon, fixed wing drones are much quieter, longer endurance, & lower operating costs, orbiting fixed sites like airplane models on a string tether.
For pure recon over DC, requiring static loiter & vertical lift, small “quad” copter drones, upto lifting a single patient scale with multiple lift propellers, could lower noise if allowed to fly high enough (risking helicopter strikes), & faster response times if distributed.
Nothing compares to the horrific wake up calls from DCA planes ROARING over NW neighborhoods. They don’t respect DC Quiet Hrs 10pm 7am! There should be SOMETHING the city can do about this!
