After learning that BOP was sending 30-40 Hope Village residents to a halfway house in Baltimore, I sent a letter to Bureau of Prisons proposing several ways they could keep these men in DC, close to their families and communities.
The most effective way to avoid recidivism is to help offenders maintain connections, accountability, and to help them reintegrate into their own communities. This can only happen if these residents stay in #DC.
