Perhaps time could be better spent on figuring out a way to get the hundreds of millions of dollars DC was denied by Congress to support our city during this crisis? Better yet, let’s find ways to support the thousands of small businesses shuttered and the thousands out of work.
I’ve received reports the #Jefferson and #Lincoln memorials have been crowded, so I wrote the National Park Service asking them to close the chambers to protect NPS employees and the public.

At some point these closures will be counterproductive. I have been running down on the mall and people are complying with social distancing recommendations. Pushing people into tighter spaces is not the right move.

Agree. Not forever, but I don’t see people crowding except at specific places. Lincoln Park is another (which is run by NPS). Close for now, and let’s reassess in a couple weeks.
