I strongly supported passage of #HR4 today. Voting right are the backbone of our democracy and the Supreme Court’s 2013 decision partially invalidating the 1965 Voting Rights Act has led to voter suppression laws and depressed turnout, particularly in communities of color.
I could not help but note that DC still faces voter suppression of its own kind. As #HR4 and #HR1 have passed, so too will our #DCstatehood bill, to give full equality and representation to DC residents. On to House passage in 2020!
