I can not support statehood for the District of Columbia. When our Founders established the District, it was not to be apart of any state. Should DC have control over their own budget, yes. But not statehood.

Today, I announced that the rescheduled #DCstatehood hearing will take place on Thursday, September 19th! Thank you @RepCummings for your leadership and for quickly pressing forward with this hearing that will move our #DCstatehood bill (HR 51) to the House floor!

That's not it all. We deserve fair representation for our city. We generate more money then some states from taxes. Taxation with Representation is actually the motto on our license plates.
