My bill would put Congress on record instead of relying on regulations, which could be overturned, for protecting people from this exposure.

Today I introduced a bill to codify Amtrak’s ban on e-cigarette use on trains. This health problem was brought to my attention by an 11-year-old constituent who saw someone vaping on the train.

I am reminding my colleagues of the countless lives lost during the decades it took states to ban smoking in public areas. We should not make the same mistake again by delaying banning electronic cigarettes and vaping devices on Amtrak.

I overheard a six year old was alarmed by people using laptops in trains due to the possibility of them exploding. Will you ban all laptops on trains because one child was alarmed? There's just as much if not more evidence this is riskier than vaping.

Pls amend HR 2726 2 ban all smoking/vaping on platforms 4 smoking break stops. Y should having 2 B exposed 2 2ndhand smoke B a condition 4 employment 4 Amtrak personnel? As a passenger in DC had smoke enter train during equipment change & unable 2 use respirator due 2 power off.
