It's only fair. DC has a higher population than Wyoming and Vermont, and it is not far behind Alaska and North Dakota. They deserve to have their own Senators and a representative in the US House of Representative.

Statehood would help

Citation needed. Curious how DC spending money to create a third branch of government would free up resources to lower crime.

When Congress controls your budget, it's hard to do things you want to do, like perhaps, implement programs to prevent crime. State and local rights! Conservative principles! Plus they have no representation in Congress, which is taxation without represention.

Congress controls the budget. Lot of that money is filtered to the capitol areas, not helping poor communities. Conservatives are hypocrites thru and thru on everything

No truer words have ever been spoken than “conservatives are hypocrites thru and thru on everything”

DC is a freaking CITY!! The Capitol of the country...just stop!
-
Do you live in DC?
-
I don't have to live there to know how and why it's set up the way it is and why it doesn't need to change.
-
more people live in DC than in a couple of states. they have no voice in the government.
-
Our forefathers set it up that way for a reason...take it up with them...

Don't forget Puerto Rico!!!
-
Say it louder for the people in the back!

-
I disagree. Puerto Rico should become an independent country. The US seized it after the US-Spanish War (amongst others). Eventually US imperialist let Cuba and the Philippines become independent. The US should do the same with the remaining colonies of Puerto Rico, Guam, et al.
