Just cede those neighborhoods back to Maryland. It doesn't make sense to have a state if it only has 68 sq miles (for reference, Rhode Island has 1,212 sq miles). Sincerely, Someone who hated labelling tiny Northeastern states in school.

Exactly. These point also apply to the creation of
@Douglass_County, MD which would pass easily if you & others would lead as opposed to advocate within your own self-sorting vacuums. Retrocession, remains the only way that has worked. Passionate centrism is rising. Join w/ us. -
No. No one wants to be a part of Maryland.

Make every metro area more populous than Wyoming their own state. Works for me.

What about embassies and various govt. buildings like VP’s house/Homeland Security? Could a university decide to be part of federal govt? Lastly, will current financial arrangement stay the same?
@Douglass_County -
Embassies can exist in
@Douglass_County, MD or 51st state. If we are to be fully enfranchised citizens we must let go of the norm that an embassy must exist in a capital city. We must be part of a state or our own state or have a constitutional amendment. Part of a state works. - 4 more replies

I would be for DC Statehood. And Pruerto Rico as well. And as soon as the Dems take back the Presidency and the Senate, taking the Supreme Court to 11 members. Its time to think about restoring the power balance in line with the majority of Americans.
