These do not seem to be the decisions of a company that, up until recently, seemed obsessed with squeezing every penny out of what they produced and aiming for the broadest audience possible. Gives me hope that Dragon Age 4 will be allowed to just be what it is.

This isn't to suggest EA is good now or anything, all companies over a certain size become and will remain exploitative, but I'm hoping at least the creative's there will have a bit more freedom to make the games they want to make.

I'd like to think that the one-two punch of Mass Effect 3's horrible original ending and Mass Effect Andromeda being pushed out unfinished after a 5-year development might have given them some motivation to make changes and stop lowballing it for the sake of peddling lootboxes.
