Good for them, hope they're getting over that cold.

Tbh looks like this might be a hair care aisle but I wonder what kind of circumstances makes it necessary to steal personal hygiene products.
Can it be that we have a system where the essentials one finds in a corner pharmacy are somehow inaccessible to people??

By accessible, do you mean available for cheaper (maybe free)? Or available in the neighborhood? Both don’t justify filling up a trash bag and not paying a dime while crashing through the door on the way out.

By "not accessable" they mean that full time employment in a majority of the country forces you into extreme poverty, preventing your from purchasing even minor luxuries like hair and skin care, etc.

I’m officially old because I can’t understand the next gen’s ideas of empathy. Support unions and fair wages and participate in democracy by voting out corrupt politicians filling up their cronies’ coffers. Don’t support theft and muggings and breakins. So woke, yet so blind :(

We do support unions. The left has been trying to support minimum wage increases and more union membership for 40 years. What has that gotten us? Theft occurs when someone is desperate and feels they have no other choice. I empathize with that, because that's an awful feeling.

Theft occurs when someone feels like they can get away with it. Which will happen more and more as it becomes more & more true.

Ignoring the material conditions that create crime in favor of a punishment is deranged, and clearly hasn't worked. If the goal is to avoid crime, the very simple and effective way to ensure it doesn't happen is eliminate poverty.

I have stolen from stores as a youth, just because I didnt want to pay and thought I could get away with it. Later on, I had very little money for food, but didn't steal, because by then I had convictions it was wrong. Poverty alone doesn't cause theft, tho it can be a factor.
