Yes, $600 is a joke but why didn’t Trump demand $2,000 *before* this bill was voted on? He knows that Republicans aren’t going to agree to $2,000 so these after-the-fact demands are a scam to try and make Trump look good.

In October Trump called for it.
...and then had Mnuchin negotiate what eventually got passed by Congress. This is more grandstanding and is aimed at damaging his new "enemies" the senatorial GOP not helping Americans. Trump cares about Trump.
