Barry, can I ask, what are the tangible benefits of Brexit?

Gosh not this old argument again. You’ve lost election after election on the issue

Rather than just deflecting, why not just answer? I am open to people's opinions. I am ambivalent about the EU as an organisation but I don't think being out of it is significantly better than being in it.

If you were to answer the question it would be obvious to you. A secure supply line from multiple countries is much better than one funnelled through one centrally controlled cartel. Proof of this was seen this week when macron closed the border for spurious reasons.

Accept of course the majority of trade will continue to pass through the EU.

Not for long, and actually it isn’t now. The likelihood is that circa 200bn will shift to ROW making reliance on the EU a thing of the past. The outer market Liz Truss signed up in 59 deals in a single year is more populated than the EU.

Likelihood? A tenuous prediction at best. Also that trade will still primarily pass through the EU. What type of business are you in not to understand that?

My opinions are based on government figures regarding GDP etc. Yours are just based on happy talk that holds little if any water. There are NO tangible benefits to Brexit. I accept It's happening but don't pretend there is.

Of course there is. You simply cannot or will not see them as they do not suit your argument. A diverse supply line is better than one controlled by a potentially hostile cartel. Argue that specific point instead of deflecting

The supply line will continue to travel through the EU. What part of that don't you understand. I'm guessing your business doesn't involve shipping or international trade otherwise you'd know that. So no that is not a tangible benefit. Try again.

Of course it will not travel through the EU that is the whole point. It will come into Felixstowe, Immingham, Southampton, Ipswich, Liverpool, Bristol and the dozens of other ports around the UK. Now try again to answer the question

Indeed. I run a business that relied upon EU and UK recognition of licences. Despite being told since 2016 that these licences would still be valid, I discovered a couple of weeks ago that they won't. I still haven't received official notification from UK Gov.

And the relevance of that supports my argument very well. Your business is vulnerable because it is too reliant on the EU. If they represented less than 20% of the T/O you wouldn’t be so affected would you.
