The mean-mindedness of so many on twitter is just so grim and depressing. What this PM is facing today is tougher – and no doubt more painful - than almost any PM in history.

These people who pretend they can’t understand that policies change when facts change, or who attribute demented conspiracy theories to lockdown, or who sit around sniping 24/7 … can you imagine if they (& twitter) had been around at the start of WW2

We'd have lost WW2 hands down. Remainers would have accepted Chamberlains approach. Starmer would have said we didn't need to bomb Dresden like we did, They'd have said we shouldn't have asked the Americans for support. We wouldn't have lasted a year

I'm dyslexic. So I'll try again. You claim to know history, but you don't. You need to read more about WW2. Or more precisely read about Chamberlain, Dresden, and America being asked to join us just before Japan and pearl harbour. Will that do for you?

I've studied history my whole life. Now go read your tweet again. You tried to make a cheap political point and failed. You should also go learn about Churchill's views on a united Europe.
