The UK. Many of my American friends and myself see his Presidency as an erosion of American values. His nationalist and I'm afraid xenophobic attitudes are anathema. He's like subsidence under a house. His achievements were inheriting an upward moving economy and bear market.

Well in the UK, reading your media outlets, you never get an accurate depiction of America and it's politics. As to nationalism versus globalism it's a balance in our transformed world. And at this moment globalism has gutted our country.

I read and watch much American output. I also watch as much raw output as possible untainted by spin or editorialising. My view on the current administration is based on that. My conclusion is that your current president is a detriment to your country internally and externally.

Two things can be true at once. He can be a detriment in some ways and a benefit in other ways. And ALL our media outlets are unreliable. On all sides of American politics. They've built a business model off of Trump and social media clicks.

He is literally kicking at the very checks and balances that ensure your republic. He invented the term "fake news" and now uses it for anything that doesn't praise him. His handling of this current crisis has been negligent at best and positively dangerous at worst. It's crazy.

Our checks and balances are very much in place. We have a good system. Trump has been checked many times over. We have three branches of government and good judges. America as it appears abroad is not the accurate picture of what it still is.

He treats the three branches as co-equal?

You have to understand that 90% of American Media, Academic institutions, TV late night hosts, Hollywood, book publishing, etc work on behalf of the democratic party. So he can't get away with much.

I'd argue they represent progressive politics rather than what, in my opinion, are the backward looking politics of Trump. The immense division in US society has become deeper under his leadership and perhaps irreparable. I truly fear for your internal future.

You have populism spreading in the EU too, as well as socialism. Centrism is taking a hit.

I think democracy, individual freedom, and free market capitalism with socialist programs as safety nets for those sick, disadvantaged, or disabled is still the best system for civilization. However when corporate/business consolidation rigs the system, things need reform.
