I'd hope that was the case but so many far smaller things do. You make a good point though.
I'd argue they represent progressive politics rather than what, in my opinion, are the backward looking politics of Trump. The immense division in US society has become deeper under his leadership and perhaps irreparable. I truly fear for your internal future.

I've done a lot of research and open-minded, curious listening to all people in the US with different perspectives. And it is said that the polarization in the US was something that was happening before Trump. And he is the symptom and response to this, but not the cause.

I think that is spot on. He pretty much rode a back lash against what many others considered progress. That part of the Trump phenomenon fascinates me also. I can even understand it and compare it to other historical periods.
