I'd argue that both political parties have sold out to corporate interests. I genuinely believe that our current democratic party is far more in the pocket of corporate interests. That's why even in our American left, Progressives and those who supported Sanders also disdain DNC.

Is he churlish? Yes. Does he have any experience in foreign affairs, diplomacy? No. He's a Manhattan businessman. A lot of his success in regards to the economy and trade deals. And people like a thriving economy and employment over his narcissism and personality.

Also, his spontaneity and erratic behavior at times works well in keeping countries and others off guard, even if it's not something clever he's intended. So there are benefits to his behavior.
