So the question is if everything was done right, at the right time, and based on the science how are we heading for the largest per capita death toll?

Based on the current trajectory and our initial spread start then yes. However as with all projections nothing is definite until it's definite. Including deaths outside of hospitals would I fear make numbers even bleaker.

You do know you can't compare countries data as they are all different? Different population sizes, density.. Different levels of ethnicity which is correlated in data that BAME have been hit hardest..

I do know that many factors affect a country's death toll. I also know that one of those factors is how the government prepares and responds. Our government HAS made mistakes. To insist otherwise is disingenuous and dangerous.

Have they? Name the mistakes they have made. When dealing with a pandemic and certainly one the likes of which has not been seen for 100 years if ever, don't you mean things that could be done better?

Not renewing our stocks of PPE alone has cost lives. That was a conscious decision. Therefore a mistake. Not closing mass gatherings sooner has cost lives and was another mistake. Not implementing checks at airports and mandatory isolation has cost lives etc etc.

Who said they didn't renew stocks of PPE. its important to deal in facts not lefty propaganda... Unless you are into that sort of thing of course.
