They are not at all. Do you know how many people have had their standard of living directly affected by membership of the EU? No you do not. Look at the reports and actually read them. Lower paid workers (the majority) have been effected to a much greater extent.

What brought about austerity? Gordon Browns fiscal policies? Spending by labour combined with the global collapse of the banks? Brown realising he had a bloody great hole he could fill by putting pressure on the housing market by allowing everyone in when he didn't need to?

Profit before people caused 2008. Cutting public services to the bone ruined lives and was unnecessary. They even said we were all in it together whilst the rich got richer. The rich will also get richer while the poor get poorer if we Brexit. You're defending the indefensible.
