Why do you object to instant revocation? You're saying you think it's better to hold out for another 6 months of the economy tanking because of business uncertainty before admitting that the deal you can't achieve will have to out to a vote of people who don't understand it?
Because it will make the divisions in our country both deeper and longer lasting. Although it might be my personal choice simply revoking would, I believe, irreparably damage the country as a whole.

Holding a second ref would not make any difference to that. There is already the narrative of betrayal in the act itself. Better to rip the band aid. At least thag way the economy can stand a chance of recovery by this time next year.

A large part of me is nodding in agreement but a nagging knot in my stomach is holding back full approval. I have nothing but respect for your point of view, though.
