I should have said the illusion of more control. You believe that the EU represents a barrier others believe it represents a safety net and a set of checks and balances. The government of the day represents their policies which the majority voted for in dealing with the EU.
No I'm saying he was talking about a potential result whilst not, at that stage, being cognizant of the way it was achieved. It's like saying you should respect the result of a football match even if it turns out the winning team played 12 men.

So he didn't know about the slogan on the side of the bus? Or that Turkey were joining the EU any second? Maybe he didn't know about the spending that Vote Leave asked the Electoral Commission about, were told was OK, and subsequently exonerated of wrongdoing? Pull the other one.
