The balance between the illusion of control vs the very real damage of yanking us out of the EU on a hope and a prayer does not make that a convincing argument. As with all things this is just my opinion though but I'm far from alone.

So you're saying he only said it because he thought Remain would win? If he had a crystal ball and knew that Leave were going to win he wouldn't have said it. Is that right? So ... he was insincere IS what you are saying.

No I'm saying he was talking about a potential result whilst not, at that stage, being cognizant of the way it was achieved. It's like saying you should respect the result of a football match even if it turns out the winning team played 12 men.
