SR: Labour of course have been resisting backing an early Election so far…
FF: Wouldn’t you given what the polls show?
SR: Do you think that is what it is?
FF: Yes, absolutely. Turkeys don’t vote for Christmas.

Replying to @StandUp4Brexit @SteveBakerHW
And yet this bloke voted for Brexit

Why wouldn't he. He cares about the power of our vote to change things and whilst we are members of the EU our vote counts for less than it used to. When you outsource policy to people you don't elect then your vote loses its power.

The balance between the illusion of control vs the very real damage of yanking us out of the EU on a hope and a prayer does not make that a convincing argument. As with all things this is just my opinion though but I'm far from alone.

If voting is an illusion of control why bother at all? It is only our vote for UKIP that gave us a chance to Leave the EU by getting a referendum. If you consider our vote is just for an illusion of control, don't bother then and let the rest of us decide our future.

I should have said the illusion of more control. You believe that the EU represents a barrier others believe it represents a safety net and a set of checks and balances. The government of the day represents their policies which the majority voted for in dealing with the EU.

The only set of checks and balances I want upon our Government is that we are free to dismiss them and elect others every few years. I have never voted to allow a foreign parliament such as the EU to be a check on our government, and neither have you.

It's not a foreign parliament. It's a parliament we are an equal member of.

It is a foreign Parliament that does not sit in this country, it is a foreign Parliament that we were never consulted on joining and one that we have rejected after 40 years of overall membership. Why do you campaign to deny us our right to be governed only by those we choose?

Also we joined following a referendum.
