Parliament wants to pass the Brexit bill and ratify the deal. That’s what a 30 vote majority on 2nd Reading means. The government’s timetable was defeated because MPs want 2-3 weeks to consider the detail of the bill. That’s what an extension would be for.

Managed to rush through the Surrender act without much scrutiny didnt they? amazing what happens when its a bill they like, vs one they dont.
