Full disclosure: I was worried about the perceived legitimacy of a referendum on May's Deal or a Corbyn deal because they're both on-paper Remainers. Now the deal people will vote on, will be one negotiated by the head of the official Vote Leave Campaign. Thank you Boris Johnson!

As a side effect, one could argue that the year since Theresa May published her Brexit Deal hasn't been a total waste of time (as I've often suggested) because that time was needed to get Boris-Vote-Leave-Johnson's name on the deal, which will make the referendum more legitimate.

What would help is the EU coming back with a far longer extension. It should then be reiterated that, in the event of a deal/revocation, that can kick in immediately. No deal should be anathema to all and removed from the discussion.
