Everyone should have a say in a new referendum. We are so far from the "manifestos" of 2016 it's madness to push forward without public consent on this specific issue.

Not when reality has shown that what was voted for in 2016 is so far from what is now being offered. Winning a vote promising sunlit uplands and attempting to deliver fields of shit cannot be right on any level. Not risible but basic common sense.

I certainly see your point and agree that disentangling ourselves from the political ties to the EU should be the goal. I also think, however, that the "taint" of 2016 will continue to muddy the whole process. It's why I support a legally binding and informed 2nd referendum

You can spin this any way you want, based on lies, no one knew what they were voting for, no one voted for no deal or hard Brexit, no one voted to be poorer blah blah blah. We still voted to leave the EU and no appalling argument on the remoaner side will change that.
