tip for those moaning about journalists being obsessed by Parliamentary numbers rather than the substance of Johnson deal vs May deal there’s plenty of analysis out there (see below) - it just doesn’t lend itself to Twitter one-linershttps://www.ft.com/content/f495f7b2-f0e9-11e9-ad1e-4367d8281195 …

This is true. But people don’t mean the FT, Politico, NS, broadsheets. And actually even the tabloids - Sun’s slant on the benefits of greater divergence a bit
but exists: they mean the six and the ten and the bulk of the BBC’s output.4 replies 8 retweets 83 likes -

Maybe but there are too many people out there complaining about a lack of information while also not wanting to do the hard yards of actually reading complicated explanations of what’s going on...

It is maddening that people complain about lack of a service they won't fund and don't read but equally, while I don't think something of the depth of your piece could be achieved on air - six and ten haven't attempted anything even remotely like it. (1/2)

And part of the reason why people won't fund and won't read indepth journalism is that the BBC's website crowds it out, and their explainers are not of the length or quality of the FT's: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-50083026 … (2/2)

Which is fine, but if they complain they still don’t know enough then they need toread, or listen, to more explanations.

Or perhaps we should ask those folks that this "new" deal affects if it's something they like?
