If only there was a market of 500 million of the richest consumers in the world on our doorstep... who we had exiting free trade deals and access to all THEIR free trade deals too...

You'd opt for 430 million in the failing EU instead of 2.3 billion in the Commonwealth and 7.3 billion in the world? Isn't that rather defeatist? When we joined the EU it represented some 30% of global trade. It's now less than half that. It accounts for barely 8% of UK GDP.
