The purpose of a "caretaker" government is expanding. The original idea was that, following a successful vote of no confidence against the Johnson government, Mr Corbyn would have a shot at forming a caretaker government.

People on this thread calling this a coup! This is what a Vote of no confidence legally does. It isn't a coup in any way whatsoever. Also shame on those suggesting violence in response.
