She isn't trying to (explicity) stop Brexit but a no deal Brexit. Given the harm it would cause seems sensible to have a net.

Technically you're right, there is no trade deal in the WA. But there is a transition period, which acts like one. No Deal means No Transition Period.

So that we can negotiate trading relationships before we crash out of the existing best-of-all-worlds trade deal we currently enjoy and into full-on WTO 3rd-country trade barriers. I thought that was rather obvious.

The deficit is essentially irrelevant to the people whose jobs rely on both the import and export of goods and services. The shrinking / growing thing has been addressed and debunked a thousand times. Ratifying existing trade deals post-EU most definitely requires a transition.
