Yes because people voting remain knew what that meant. The fact that some think it means crashing out proves that.
Looking at WTO terms and the future pitfalls of FTAs (we've only managed 8 out of 40 due for 29/3) The damage will erode us for a significant period of time. Also why would we want to harm our biggest trading partner? I'd expect any further refs to not be so fundamentally flawed.

You have to break some eggs to make an omelette.... Besides, we're in a huge trade defecit to the EU so it will be to our benefit to redress the balance.

How will we redress the balance? not by simply leaving the Eu, not without a credible trade policy, not by emergency devaluation of the £ not by unilateral zero tariffs.
