With regards to Uber’s benefits fund proposal: I’m not convinced that a third labor category is necessary or good, but at least it is refreshing to see the honesty that drivers would have to choose between PTO and healthcare but won’t get both

The thing I don't understand about these complaints is, how is being an employee better? At least the proposal guarantees benefits, and allows you to flex them if you get benefits through a spouse/etc. And allows for benefits even if you don't hit a min weekly hour threshold.pic.twitter.com/25K764fLyP

well, for those who keep their jobs it's better if the 120% of pay doesn't make up for idle time. the health benefits would also be 100% of bronze instead of 40% or 80%.
