It’s good government have finally announced financial support for the self-employed But many simply cannot wait until June for this help And the plan appears to leave out large numbers - especially people who’ve become self-employed in the last year https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52053914 …

People facing the Loan Charge are supposed to have until September to file their tax returns. Now they have four weeks!!! The legislation hasn't even been debated yet! #LoanChargeFiasco #STOPtheLoanCharge NOW!

Please urge the Chancellor to permit new entrants (s/e after 5.4.18) to use tax returns to 5.4.20 (which can be submitted from 6.4.20). That's before the deadline for applications, so perfectly possible. Submissions are online. Easier than Universal Credit -better for HMG too

That’s an excellent point. As someone who used to work at the treasury - I agree. More importantly, I think it would be possible to implement, and be compatible (as I see it) within the plan they have announced. June doesn’t sound ideal, but I think it’s a realistic timeframe.

Started last June. Sank all my savings into creating my business so nothing left. Business going really well until Coronavirus hit. How am I supposed to pay the bills?

They appear to struggle to do anything quickly. Teacher: What’s your sentence with the word contagious in it? Pupil: Boris Johnson is promising speedy delivery of PPE and #ventilators but my Dad says it will take the contagious.
