What would you use to interconnect two LANs-behind-DSL? Needs #ipv6 support and I think I am done with #IPsec. #vpn #linux #askingforafriend #openvpn #tinc #wireguard #fastd

Okay, but this being between two DSL-LANs anyway, OpenVPN has certainly not been the limiting factor in the past. Doubt Wireguard can squeeze out much more, when there is little in the first place.

Security, better crypto, simplicity, ease of use, latency, performance are all strong reasons to prefer WireGuard.

Simplicity and ease of use are somewhat orthogonal to having to maintain a kernel module, don't you think?

Don't get me wrong, it's not hard to do, but it requires a build infrastructure, or locally installed build environment, and automation … talk about ease of adoption…

I was referring to actually using it. Regarding installation, DKMS and the various packages make it pretty easy to install, with instructions for basically every major distro on http://wireguard.com/install/ . And when it's available in mainline, the module situation goes away anyway.
