    I've been trying my hand at writing prompts because I'm absurdly rusty at typing out anything that isn't work related and man a not-insignificant number of them are basically calling for real person fanfic and it's very strange and often weirdly political

    I'd forgotten that Quake II just kind of introduces new enemies by having them... stand there. Like you round a corner and see a Tank for the first time. There's no fanfare he's just stood in front of a terminal in a really cramped space. Don't miss that aspect of the old school

    I know this is representative of pretty much every site's ToS these days but it's still funny to me that they all boil down to "we don't take any responsibility for the posts" co-existing with "the posts belong to us and we'll do whatever we want with them"

    I used to be really good at FPS games and at some point I just... stopped being really good at FPS games. I mean I still enjoy them but I don't have the reflexes anymore I just bash my head against obstacles until I succeed

    Replaying the Quakes and they kind of hold up but man it really hammers home why Half-Life was such a revelation for me. Also for some reason I'm finding the first Quake way more difficult than Quake 2 on hard mode the extra shambler spawns are bastards

    OK hear me out: add the Juggernaut Bee as a high-end enemy in future Elder Scrolls instalments

    So, I have a story about the Skyrim Intro and how hard game development is. That intro is famous now, but back then, it was just that one thing that we had to keep working and working on forever. I lost track of how many times I've seen that cart ride. Easily hundreds. (thread)

    I really wish I knew what I'd done with the Disco Elysium piece I'd been working on. I mean I can always start again from scratch but I absolutely loathe trying to rewrite something when I *know* I was fairly happy with it before I lost it
