Surely, SURELY the GG movement is more active right now than it’s ever been given that this past week has given us the most clear, obvious and explicit violation of “ethics in gaming journalism” in recent years. Right?

I don't even like "art games" all that much! But just because I find an interactive experience with minimal gameplay and a slow-paced, intimate story boring as hell, I don't want to deprive that experience from someone who might actually enjoy it.
-
Plus, the so-called "real games" arn't going anywhere. It's not like Microsoft is looking at The Stanley Parable and going "You know what; let's cancel Halo Infinite, and make a walking simulator about a man who thinks his breakfast is talking to him."

Some people said "Gamers are Dead" meaning that the description of the average person who plays games had changed to the point of inclusion for man different types of people and all angry white boys read was "Gamers are Dead"
-
Yup, that too. Things like this never just have one cause.

Well I’m glad you enjoy those games, but I can tell you right now that principled gamer-gaters were in the minority. Or do I need to remind you what happens to the “GameEthics” hashtag?

#Gamergate never cared about those games existing. Gamergate cared when those games were getting high marks from journalist friends or when they were pushing a narrative of identity politics instead of gameplay. Bad faith is when you accuse it of "naked sexism" for criticism.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
