You’re making a connection I’m not. Besides, I don’t think professional athletes should be in the #Olympics, so no NBA or NHL players. Am I diminishing them too? No.

Why would you even say this?

What a silly statement to make! Ofcause figure skating is a sport. Have you ever seen how hard skaters train?

it shouldn't be personal. For intellectual consistency, you then should feel that snowboarding, which also includes an artistic/style element, synchronized swimming, and rhythmic gymnastics also are not sports, right ? ps: "podcasting" is neither reporting nor sportscasting

Dear Edward- to confirm your hypothesis that figure skating is not a sport I challenge you to spend 1/2 hour skating side by side with each of the following skaters: Nathan Chen, Adam Rippon and Vincent Zhou. If you are unwilling to do so then you are nothing more than hot air!

It’s not your opinion that’s egregious. It’s your inability to use and understand a dictionary.

I dont think “sports reporting” is like being a REAL news reporter. Not diminishing anybody, I don’t want “sports reporters” to disappear or those who do it to be reduced in any way. Don’t take it personally.

You say skating isn’t a sport and think you aren’t diminishing anybody? Of course you are. Just curious if you think snowboard half-pipe and aerial skiing are suddenly not sports because they are judged? That’s some weak reasoning.

All sports have judges. That's what umpires do. According to his logic most sports are not sports. He seems to think sports can't be artistic as well as athletic.
