    Just spent a lovely evening on a train reading this important paper from my colleagues . Environmental Science is both maddening and kept interesting by the reality always being more complex than you expect!

    From space, satellites show a much greener Arctic than in decades past. On the ground, as the Arctic warms, plants are leafing out earlier, growing taller and expanding in cover. But, the greening seen from space doesn't always match change on the ground.

    Well this is a surprise. Claire O'Neil seemed to be doing a good job preparing for this critical summit. I just hope her replacement is equally competent, and ideally also female. Hopefully this is just a sign of how seriously Johnson and his cabinet are about ?

    Well, my EU citizenship, which I've had my whole life, is about to be stripped from me. Devastated, both for myself, and that I can't pass that citizenship on to my daughter. But I'll always be European, that can't be taken away!!

    We already subsidise aviation by not taxing its fuel or charging VAT on tickets. If companies are still not financially viable on that basis, AND we need to reduce flying massively to meet save the world from cooking, surely we should let them go bust?
