This wasn't on my radar until I became a parent, but it matters. It was very isolating to be turned away from lunch and expo hall when I tried to stroll in with a baby in my arms at a conference recently. It never even occurred to me that children wouldn't be welcome.https://twitter.com/gdequeiroz/status/1156667761583480832 …

I’ve found the
@linuxfoundation (particularly@cloudfoundry) &@OpenStack conferences to be kids friendly.1 reply 0 retweets 8 likes -

Thanks for the shoutout! We do try to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible and this includes offering complimentary professional child care to attendees traveling with children. Here's more info about our on-site resources if you're interested:https://bit.ly/2Yxpzuz

Complimentary childcare certainly is a whole level more than I'd expect. I've only seen a handful of conferences do it, but it's such a game-changer! Thanks for being a trailblazer in this regard!

I loved when PyCon began offering child care, and my kids are all grown! That made a huge difference in the ability of many people (women, mostly) to attend, and made for a much better conference!
