Brain drain opportunity cost: I can't in good faith recruit grad students, post-docs, etc. who might be LGBTQIA+, nor can I host an inclusive conference in my state. White, cis-het folks: Think of a place you'd be scared to go. Now imagine that's an entire state. Now it's 25.

I’m still waiting for the helicopter from the #Survivor44 trailer at the 43 finale to land on the beach. I waited all season for it and never saw it. I went into the season wondering who’d be med evacuated by helicopter… (I mean glad it didn’t happen but still).
