The impact on old people is enormously disproportionate. Here are the Massachusetts numbers.pic.twitter.com/sX9FyvR1sa

It would be interesting to see this same data with a split between those who were otherwise healthy vs. those with serious pre-conditions.

I suspect that if you sliced the data by say, BMI, you might see a similar distribution. Same for other co-morbidities. Need to see other distributions to rule out other potentially important factors.

These are amazing numbers, but I think we should not forget that the impact of death on old people has always been disproportionate to young people...

Mike - love it. Btw - we can't cheat death (unless someone who has already proven His power over death, saves us)

Except that a large number of these deaths were in nursing homes or similar facilities where spreading occurred among the oldest and most vulnerable.

Russell - tell us something we don't already know. Flu and colds are always harder for old people to overcome, they often result in bacterial pneumonia, which causes over 50,000 deaths a year in the US alone. https://www.webmd.com/lung/bacterial-pneumonia …

Same for Washington, and we were the point of the spear, so we are waaaay past the peak back in late March. See the over age 80 = 58%https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/Coronavirus …
