Currently, public sub counts are abbreviated in most but not all places across YouTube. In August, we’ll make this more consistent by always showing abbreviated sub counts publicly. Please don't. These outward facing numbers have significance not just to us and our audiences but even brands looking to work with creators. If you look like you have 400k less like in your demonstration, that's a hefty difference in an offer you might receive (that's 1 example)

Not really. 400k will only be hidden at 10m and above. At that point the popularity is self evident. Views are much more important anyway for sponsored content

If you don’t have a specific follower count the sponsor can’t see if they should spend money on you, they don’t know if your on the high end of 400k or the low end... it just makes it harder for everyone

Sure they do. Hundreds of thousands will be abbreviated to the thousands. So it'll be 415k or 475k.

I think what Roberto is saying is that view count is more important to most brands but there are certainly a lot that still run things on sub count alone. I don't mind all the abbreviations but I'd like the API to remain untouched so if you want to know, then you can

Yes it certainly is a lot more important, I'm just also saying that the functionally of subcounts are maintained anyway.
