That any program written against that standard should work correctly. Of course, there may be gaps in the coverage of the conformance test suite, but it's a very good indication of general driver quality.

It's Mesa, not the firmware. But yes, you'd need to grab upstream Mesa in order to get all the fixes that

Yes, in due course, provided Mesa and its dependency set does not diverge excessively from the Buster baseline.

Getting close to feature-parity with VC4 full KMS now, plus dual-screen support. We'll see about getting a beta out in the next month or so.
