It makes sense. When you are paying rent in a retail business, you are paying for the spot. There’s intrinsic value associated to the location and the associated foot traffic. Right now a square foot in midtown Manhattan should cost the same as a square foot in rural America

I like your argument. If I rent my apartment because it’s close to my job and I no longer have a job, I shouldn’t have to pay rent for that month!

Sorry but it’s not a 2 week emergency. Government needs to declare a rent and mortgage “holiday” for at least two months
