Of course, there’s a solution to all this: privatize big-money college sports. Let the players get paid what the market will bear. Stop pretending it isn’t about money. If someone wants to pay a kid $5 million to transfer, why shouldn’t he take it?

In October, CNBC reported that Schmidt and entities connected to him made more than 50 investments in artificial intelligence companies while he was chair of a federal commission on AI from 2018 to 2021. There was no indication Schmidt broke any rules or did anything unlawful.

A person close to Schmidt tells me Schmidt will donate 100 percent of the “net profits” from his investment in First Spark Ventures - which includes biotech investments - to charity, in the wake of his being named to the new federal biotech commission.

Department of Justice now announcing that it has been inside the networks of of Hive, one of the most pernicious ransomware groups, which it just took down. Law enforcement stole encryption keys from hackers and gave them to victims, saving victims $130M in ransomware payments.
