Those officers were surrounded and didn't have riot gear. They were doing the best they could. (I admit, I was a person who, at first, saw videos and thought, are the cops HELPING rioters?)

Politics, especially political punditry, is just modern day televangelism. Instead of using religion to get attention and money they use politics. They’ll say anything to whip up the crowd and make more money for themselves.
