🆕 Today, Head of #EUMA Markus Ritter together with our 🇪🇺 monitors closely follows the ongoing movement on the road leading to the entrance of the Lachin corridor from the 🇦🇲 side to get first-hand and verified information on current developments.
Last several days, #EUMA eye witnessed with concern the increased tensions and crossfire at the 🇦🇲-🇦🇿border areas.
📈We reported on the situation to Brussels.
ℹ️ Our patrols cover AM-AZ border areas & lines of confrontation to report on military & security developments to 🇪🇺.
🆕#EUMA increased its patrolling activity - among others - in 🇦🇲-🇦🇿 border areas of Gegharkunik & Syunik Provinces to observe any military developments.
🔭 Through our presence on the ground, we aim to contribute to calming tensions & 🇪🇺 impartial reporting on the situation.
We patrol day & night at the 🇦🇲-🇦🇿 border areas & line of confrontation to observe any military development, inc. amassment, movement, or shootings.
🚨#EUMA reinforced patrols in the areas of greater concern to 🇪🇺 report on the situation & contribute to calming the tensions.
📣#EUMA daily monitors military & security situation from 4️⃣ operating bases patrolling alongside 🇦🇲-🇦🇿border area.
ℹ️Based on information on the ground, we see no unusual military movement or buildup, especially at the entrance to Lachin corridor

We patrol daily alongside 🇦🇲-🇦🇿 border on the Armenian territory, including the entrance to Lachin corridor, to report on new military and security developments to Brussels. #EUMA impartial reporting then directly contributes to the 🇪🇺EU-led peace process in the South Caucasus.
Head of EU Mission in Armenia Markus Ritter and Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin welcome Chair Nathalie Loiseau and the SEDE delegation at the Sisian airfield to join #EUMA for a planned patrol to Lachin corridor.
‘By our presence, #EUMA keeps Brussels and 🇪🇺Member states informed on the security developments at the 🇦🇲-🇦🇿 border areas, including at the entrance to the Lachin corridor. Our reporting contributes to the 🇪🇺EU’s efforts in supporting peace process in the region.’
We patrol along the intl. recognized borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan from 3 hubs in Goris, Jermuk & Martuni. Remaining 3 hubs in Kapan, Ijevan & Yeghegnadzor will open in near future. #EUMA aims to contribute to creating safe & stable environment in conflict-affected areas
The path may not always be the easiest to drive. But neither mud nor challenging terrain stop our monitors from their daily patrols to the 🇦🇲-🇦🇿 border to assess the security developments on the ground. #EUMA
Every week, our patrols cover some 3800 km to observe security developments in border areas between Armenia and Azerbaijan, from north to south and from east to west. Including in Yeraskh village, where #EUMA met with the owners of the factory right after the incident this week.

#EUMA HoM Markus Ritter, and Head of , representing 🇪🇺 institutions based in 🇦🇲, met in Yerevan.
💡They exchanged thoughts & information on the regional developments and on the 🇪🇺’s efforts in supporting peace process in the region.
During our patrols, our monitors often face various terrain⛰️ and weather ⛈️challenges, requiring additional technical skills.
🚙🔭Regardless of that, #EUMA monitors are committed to patrol and report on the developments at the 🇦🇲-🇦🇿 border areas on a daily basis.
Every day, our monitors patrol some 3800km of 🇦🇲-🇦🇿border areas from multiple hubs.

🎉Our monitors from operational hub in Goris have just arrived from #EUMA 5⃣0⃣0⃣ 🚙patrol, which was planned to observe military and other movement at the entrance to the Lachin corridor.
Our monitors regularly visit conflict-affected areas on 🇦🇲 side of the 🇦🇲-🇦🇿 border areas to assess how the conflict impacts on their daily life.
👶🏼👨🏻👵🏼Human security patrols are a key compontent of #EUMA mandate contributing to the feeling of security among local population.
Having a base in Tavush allow us to be present here more regularly and to reach people in the most remote border areas," said #EUMA HoM Markus Ritter at the opening of FOB Ijevan, the fifth operating base out of total six.

This week, 🇪🇺#EUMA has moved to its 🏢permanent location in Yeghegnadzor.
ℹ️ According to the operational plan, EUMA’s headquarters is based in Yeghegnadzor with operating bases in Jermuk, Goris, Kapan, Martuni, Ijevan and Yeghegnadzor and a liaison & support office in Yerevan.
