Ours is the era of inadequate AI alignment theory. Any other facts about this era are relatively unimportant, but sometimes I tweet about them anyway.

Things that should exist: a tiny keychain device that is preloaded with up to $50 for emergencies, and summons an Uber or Lyft.

Clarification: I meant $50 towards the Uber or Lyft. Not cash. The goal is to have the smallest backup thingy that prevents you from being stranded, e.g. if your phone dies.

Why does your objection not apply to all other devices, such as Android phones?

That's a really good counter. But perhaps I'm misunderstanding; it's a device that has $50 pre-loaded, that can only be retrieved in (user-prompted) emergency? Seems easy to give false positive. (I'm not geek enough to know if that's possible, but I don't see why it wouldn't be)

I would be very surprised if someone wasn't working on disposable payment dongles for things just like this. The Amazon order-button things seem to just be begging for mobile emergency analogs.

In the age of instant access Self driving cars; that would be nice to have on your keychain. Summoning a driver is definitely too involved.

Also, a simple analog UI interface to Uber/Lyft (think large, labeled buttons for “home”, “grocery store”) would be great for old or mentally impaired people
