I'd agree with Eliezer that it's not a solution and even hours are unrealistic for *worst case* AI takeoff scenarios. (But probabilities assigned to various cases are highly uncertain.) But IIRC it IS what is discussed by Robin as a solution. He should feel free to correct me.

I was assuming your discussion of prediction markets for "catastrophic risks that might… even lead to extinction" included AI takeoff.
